MILAN — World markets were closed Saturday night, but that did not prevent the business of the Salvatore Ferragamo Spring / Summer 2018 runway show at Piazza Affari, home of Borsa Italiana SpA, Italy’s sole stock exchange. The Italian luxury brand has long laid its runway inside the exchange, but the warm evening air outside proved much more inviting and also permitted Fulvio Rigoni an occasion to flex a little early in his post as creative designer. Whatever is ultimately made of this collection, heavy on the python, remains to be seen, but for this page’s attention the lineup did feature no fewer than 10 models from across the Next global network including Grace Elizabeth, Myrthe Bolt, Selena Forrest, Wangy, Estella Brons, Blanca Padilla, Lineisy Montero, Maria Clara, Marjan Jonkman, and Hiandra Martinez. That is about it for Fashion Week in Milan…next stop, Paris.
