Kojima-based label, KAPITAL, returns this season with signature indigo-dyed denims and repurposed prints. Each element in this collection yield to dramatic layering options while flaunting patchwork construction and heaps of the softest fabrics. Kiro Hirata continuously displays a playful yet durable range of denim silhouettes, fleeces, pants, tees, and numerous accessories. A notable member of this collection, the 8oz IDG x IDG Denim Jubbhan Shirt, is a redefinition of the noragi silhouette. The noragi, のらぎ, a traditional Japanese working-class kimono, moves fluidly between the styles of cardigan and casual blazer with ease. The 8oz denim, hand dyed with a rigorous indigo washing and treating process, gives this piece a well-worn feel matched by a contrasting patchwork collar. A buttoned front placket and internal patch pocket round out the details. I suggest pairing with the IDG No.4 Jyo-Mon Ripstop Sleeper Pants, which feature a new dye process. The cotton textile is treated with a three-part natural blend of herbal, sulphide, and indigo dyes. This combination creates KAPITAL’s own “No.4” colour: a distinctive deep green, inspired by Japanese military uniforms
