From the beginning, MSGM has been about unexpected mashups. Massimo Giorgetti arrived on the scene as street style photography was exploding, and the cameras loved his combo platter approach to fashion. This season, he took to mixing biker shorts with ruffled shirts and sashes; flyaway track pants with argyle sweaters; and striped sports jerseys with halters of yet more ruffles made from openwork knits. Giorgetti is savvy to trends, and he landed on two of fashion’s current obsessions here: athleisure on the one hand and girly ruffles on the other.
